Solution Designer (Dec 2014 – Present)

2017-2018

Vendor Selection & active Proof of Concept process participant for new public Content Search platform. Solution Architecture including content metadata ingestion pipeline (ETL) and user engagement metric ingestion. Devised Content Groups and Search Index Data Structure in collaboration with product team.

Google Analytics 360 rollout including Analytics Data Layer Specification for schema & events and alignment to other platforms such as Snowplow Analytics.

Developed technical roadmaps, solution design, capacity planning, estimation and technical documentation for Content Recommendations Platform, Communities & User Generated Content Platform, Profiles Identity Management Platform and Snowplow Analytics Pipeline.

Collaborated with wider Technology team including Security and Architecture to design a solution for CoreMedia which is hosted within an AWS cloud environment including migration from on-premise systems.

Solution Design for Ball Park Estimates for key ABC products including Heywire, Indigenous, Kids Listen App, Rage, Gardening Australia, Media Watch and Radio Australia.

Collaboration with Digital Network Product team to present Recommendations to senior stakeholders, service designers and product managers across the ABC.

2016-2017

Developed technical roadmaps, solution design, capacity planning, estimation and technical documentation for Content Recommendations Platform, Communities & User Generated Content Platform, Profiles Identity Management Platform and Snowplow Analytics Pipeline.

Architected CoreMedia CMS Upgrade solution including preview and integration with Presentation Layer for decoupled ‘headless’ CMS.

Developer Blog committee member with responsibilities to promite, write, review and publish contributions from team members to public blog.

Collaboration with Service Design team to run and produce Personalisation Workshops and Play Book.

2014-2016

Established Solution Design Process including solution design templates & stencils, estimation methodology & template, prototyping methodology and universal ArchiMate-based notation modelling. Gathered requirements and document market solutions for API Management Platform. Scoped work required and cost model for Capital Works bid. Solution Designer on Metro (Cloud-based flexible media transcoding solution) which provides a drastic reduction in costs for iview video transcoding and that can be extended to suit needs of other ABC divisions harnessing cloud-based (AWS) services. Solution Designer for ABC-wide modular, real-time content Recommendations service including service design, architecture, requirements gathering and analysis with all ABC divisions and embedded team member in scrum-based delivery team. Extensive schema and information modelling for Snowplow web & apps tracking and analytics platform in conjunction with Digital Network Data Science team, also archiving strategy, data warehouse design and technical architecture roadmapping. Market analysis and requirements gathering across all ABC divisions for Profiles platform and Communities platform. Contribution to ABC Digital Network developers blog.

Lend Lease (ICT – Information and Communication Technology)

Solution Delivery Lead – Digital (Nov 2013 – Dec 2014)

Analysis, estimation, design, delivery (utilising Scrum/Agile methodology) of Digital projects for internal websites (Intranet and portal) and publically-accessible websites on the Sitecore CMS platform (incorporating .NET and MVC). Utilising Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio 2013 for sprint planning, retrospectives, triage and bug tracking. Automated builds to internal and externally hosted cloud-based infrastructure (Amazon AWS). Agile (Scrum) methodology for project delivery in such roles as Scrummaster and technical lead. Co-ordination of development and testing resources including chairing daily stand-up meetings and escalation paths to stakeholders. Future platform pipeline and resource planning. Working with distributed teams including Lend Lease teams in England as well as partners located offsite, interstate and offshore. Vendor selection & management and co-ordination of Request for Proposal (RFP) process for internal and external Lend Lease websites such as Retail Searchable Centre, Pulse (corporate intranet), Barangaroo South and Darling Square.

Solutions Designer (Jul 2011 – Oct 2013)

End-to-end technical design, project scheduling and estimation of enterprise web and data warehouse systems to deliver custom application and Business Intelligence solutions to executives and finance managers globally, translation of business requirements to solutions to satisfy client’s needs, software product and vendor selection, assisting recruitment process, integrated security design, establishment and promotion of standards, maintenance of design/estimation artefact templates, mentoring of new team members, prototyping and User Interface design.

Design and prototype of TM1 and Oracle Fusion Middleware interface using SOAP web services and Oracle Enterprise Service Bus (SOA Suite).

Installation and configuration of Cognos BI and TM1 platform, creation of enterprise data warehouse strategy, co-ordination of tasks with other teams including Applications Management, Infrastructure Management, Service Desk, Vendors, Partners and business customers, defining and implementing a Data Warehouse strategy for the Lend Lease organisation.

Applications Developer Level 2 (Sep 2006 – Jun 2011)

Development and support of enterprise Business Intelligence applications. Development of databases, data warehousing, data transformation, data migration and analytical reporting systems using business intelligence, ETL development tools and Microsoft Visual Studio, support of global systems operating in multiple time zones, establishment of standards for Business Intelligence. Lead for Informatica PowerCenter, design and delivery of integrated Kerberos-based security model for HR cube reporting solution, on-going maintenance and support of bespoke in-house MDM (Master Data Management) system.

Development and technical support of a range of financial applications including Oracle e-Business Suite, Hyperion Performance Suite update and operational reporting and Excel-based global applications. Adherence to change management, development procedures. Weekly radio show with researching, producing, announcing, digital panel operation (Axia iQ series), music programming, recording and editing of promos & stings, panelling from a variety of sources (CD, turntable, mini disc, phone, PC), playlist logging, competitions and give-aways, live-reads, promotion of station at local community events, assistance during annual supporter drive, assisting other presenters with audio editing, production of stings and pre-records.
